 The Art of Salt Dough making is an accent one, dating as far back as Egyptian times. Salt and Wheat flour
were the Two most common food stuffs available to the Egyptians.
In many past cultures dough modelling was tied up with religious beliefs and ceremonies when sculptures
would be offered as gifts to the Gods, or presents to people on important occasions such as weddings
Christenings and funerals. Salt Dough craft was most popular throughout Europe, especially in Germany
where the art form was widely used as a form of home decoration especially at festive times.
